Following the cancellation of part of this course last December (further information here), we are delighted to announce that the sessions we were not able to deliver have been rescheduled.
As there are additional places available at these rescheduled sessions, we are taking the opportunity to encourage all who wish to attend either individual sessions or all three sessions to come along.
This is one of the most popular MMI Courses over the last 8 years, with large audiences experiencing wide-ranging talks from investigators at the forefront of developing and using biomedical research techniques and technologies. The lectures this year include overviews of RNA interference, transgenic and gene targeting techniques, systems biology approaches, investigating protein-protein interactions, expression proteomics, fluorescent/confocal imaging, high content screening and analysis, and stem cell applications.
These sessions are primarily delivered on this occasion for the participants who attended Session 1 of this course last December. Therefore Session 1 is not repeated.
We are very happy to welcome all others who are interested in attending sessions 2, 3 and 4. However only those who attended session 1 in December 2010, and attend the remaining sessions on this occasion, are eligible to receive a MMI Course Certificate of Attendance.
In order to apply to attend part or all of sessions 2, 3 or 4, please click the apply button at the bottom of this page.
As this is not a full-lenght MMI course, there is no registration charge for academic attendees outside the MMI partners institutions.
This course is designed to give bioscientists and clinicians a broad overview of research techniques and their application. Basic molecular biology laboratory experience is assumed, but you should not need prior knowledge of the techniques covered in the course.
The objective for postgraduate teaching is to give students a broad basic knowledge of bioscience research techniques and technologies, including those not currently used in their own project/laboratory that may be of future use.
