Applications are invited for a Research Officer to be employed by the National Cancer Registry to support the Irish Prostate Cancer Outcomes Research (IPCOR) project for a 12 month maternity leave period. The post-holder will: maintain and develop the current systems in place to identify newly diagnosed prostate cancer cases; collect patient, tumour and treatment-related information; and collect clinical follow-up data.
The successful candidate must have a third level qualification in healthcare or an allied discipline, a RGN or equivalent nursing qualification, or be educated to degree level in health sciences, social sciences or a related subject. S/he must have worked in a healthcare environment for at least two years and be familiar with medical terminology. Computer literacy is essential as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This post will be based at the National Cancer Registry in Cork and will include travel to other hospitals in the region. Starting salary will be in accordance with Department of Health grade IV: €25,752 – €42,891.
