MMI works with its partner institutions, and collaborators in academia and industry, to develop and deliver clinical and translational research programmes. We are actively involved in project management and coordination of the following programmes:
HRB - CRCI
HRB Clinical Research Coordination Ireland formed in 2015 as an independent integrated national clinical research network, providing centralised support in the conduct of multicentre clinical trials (both commercial and academic) across Ireland.
MMI / CÚRAM Partnership
MMI is supporting CÚRAM, the SFI Centre for Research in Medical Devices, in its mission to translate research to the clinic and in development and delivery of the centre's education and training programme.
The Irish Prostate Cancer Outcomes Research (IPCOR) Project is a clinically-led study that aims to improve the treatment and care of men diagnosed with prostate cancer in Ireland thus maximising their quality of life.
The aim of the Irish PROgramme for Stratified ProstatE Cancer Therapy (iPROSPECT) is to develop and implement informed patient stratification and deliver a programme of stratified oncology for patients with prostate cancer.
PhD Programme Research
The MMI Clinician Scientist Fellowship and Clinical & Translational Research Scholars Programmes have generated impressive patient-focused research outputs across the five MMI partner institutions.
The Dublin Centre for Clinical Research, funded by the Wellcome Trust and the HRB, created a new Clinical Research Facility at TCD / St James’s Hospital and built a network for collaborative clinical research including IT and research nursing support.
MMI Research Consortia and Networks
Molecular Medicine Ireland aims to promote a strong multi-disciplinary and cross-institutional collaborative research environment. As such, we are facilitating a central information point that presents an overview of clinical and translational research consortia involving our partner institutions. Here, these research consortia take the opportunity to present a succinct view of their aims and collaborative strengths.
Prostate cancer (PCRC)
The Prostate Cancer Research Consortium is a multi-disciplinary, trans-institutional collaboration bringing together researchers from UCD, TCD, RCSI and DCU along with five teaching hospitals in a combined effort to identify novel disease biomarkers for earlier detection and more reliable prognosis for prostate cancer.
