MMI CSFP Annual Meeting to be held on 11 July 2009
The first Annual Meeting of MMI Clinician Scientist Fellows and their supervisors will take place on Saturday, 11 July 2009 in NUI Galway. The Keynote Lecture will be delivered by Professor Sherine Gabriel (William J. and Charles H. Mayo Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology, Mayo Clinic, MN, US). 22 Clinician Scientist Fellows are currently on this programme, the objective of which is to train the next generation of clinician scientists (academic medical leaders) with the unique and specialised knowledge essential to fulfil Ireland’s research needs in translational medicine. It provides a systematic means to train this essential group through a structured PhD programme.
At the Annual Meeting. each of the 19 Fellows appointed in the first call will deliver a 10-minute presentation on their research. The 3 Fellows appointed in the second call for the programme will present posters on their proposed projects. The programme of talks will be followed by a wine reception.
