Date Posted: 3 Feb 2010

On 2nd December, the Dublin Centre for Clinical Research hosted a networking event with the Biomedical Diagnostic Institute (BDI). The DCCR is a clinical research network funded by the Wellcome Trust and HRB. The evening event featured an overview presentation by Professor Dermot Kelleher, Clinical Director and Principal Investigator of the DCCR Programme.

The DCCR has established a number of clinical interest groups members of which attended to hear Professor Brian MacCraith talk about some of the novel diagnostic technologies being developed by BDI.

BDI is a Science Foundation Ireland CSET (Centre for Science, Engineering and Technology) established in October 2005. The key for BDI is to introduce its devices to clinical practice and the DCCR offers BDI a clinical community able to trial these new diagnostic devices with patients attending the Dublin area teaching hospitals.
