The Smurfit Institute of Genetics is delighted to present a public talk on Genetics and Breast Cancer-progress in personalised medicine to be given by Professor Mary-Claire King, University of Washington School of Medicine Seattle;
Date: Wednesday 7 April 2010 at 7pm
Venue: Edmund Burke Theatre, Arts Building, Trinity College Dublin.
This talk will detail the latest discoveries in genetics, which are enabling the development of ‘personal medicine’ – drugs and therapies designed specifically for each patient and how this can help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
At this event Professor King will also be presented with the Trinity College Dublin Dawson Prize in Genetics for her ground-breaking discoveries in Breast Cancer Research and her work with Amnesty International.
