'Improved Translation of Biomarkers to the Clinic'

MMI will host the Irish Biomarker Network - Inaugural Workshop on Thursday 4 November 2010 at the Cusack Stand Conference Centre, Croke Park, Dublin 3.

This event aims to bring together clinicians and scientists working in biomarker research in Ireland with a focus on;

  •  Addressing some of the key issues in translating biomarkers to the clinic.
  •  Exploring the value and key objectives of an Irish Biomarker Network.

Outline of Workshop Programme:

  • An overview of the background to the establishment of an Irish Biomarker Network
  •  An overview of the regulatory requirements for bringing biomarkers to the clinic from a European and FDA perspective. 
  • Five case studies to share lessons learned and experiences in the evaluation and clinical validation pathway for biomarker discovery and development
  • Facilitated discussions on the value, objectives and focus of an Irish Biomarker Network

The Keynote Speaker:

Dr Francis Kalush
Network Leader for the Diagnostics (In vivo and In vitro) and Personalised Medicine Network will present the FDA perspective.
