Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoctoral position in the Inflammation and Immunity Group (Department of Clinical Medicine, Trinity College Dublin) led by Professor Padraic Fallon and located at the Institute of Molecular Medicine, St James’s Hospital (http://www.tcd.ie/IMM/translational_bioscience_2003_2008/prof_fallon.php).
The research focus of this project will be to examine age-related alterations in type 2 immune function, specifically in the context of allergic responses. This project will involve the use of transgenic mouse lines and animal models of inflammation. The applicant should have a strong research record including publications (relative to career stage), and be highly motivated and dynamic. Previous experience in cellular immunology techniques (including flow cytometry) is essential and animal handling is desirable. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. The position will commence on 1st October 2009. This is a two-year position with competitive salary (and pension contributions) dependent upon the candidate’s experience.
