The HRB is pleased to announce a second call for HRB/Marie Curies Post-doctoral Mobility Fellowships. The HRB/Marie Curie Post-doctoral Mobility Fellowships 2010 will be co-funded by the European Commission under its FP7 COFUND action. These three-year fellowships will enable researchers to train and conduct research for a period of two years in any sponsor institution abroad, which will be followed by a mandatory reintegration period of one year back in Ireland. Applications are invited from researchers focusing on patient-oriented, health service and population health sciences research. The HRB expects to award up to five of these fellowships in 2010.

WHO should apply?
Post-doctoral researchers in Ireland working in health related disciplines who wish to consolidate their research and make the transition from post-doctoral research trainee to independent researcher in an international environment; Non-Irish applicants may not apply for funding for research to be carried out in their country of origin.
Applicants must have a PhD (or have a formal document from the awarding institution certifying that the PhD viva has been passed) or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience after obtaining the university diploma that formally gives them access to doctoral studies.

WHAT does the award include?
The fellowship will provide funding for salary (IUA scale) and salary-related costs, research running costs, training and development allowance, dissemination costs. In addition a travel grant, relocation contribution and health insurance contribution are also provided during the mobility phase.
