The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology University College Cork has a vacancy for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant with an interest in complications in pregnancy. The position is available from 1st March 2010 for 1 year in the first instance. The research project will contribute and complement work being undertaken by researchers on clinical and laboratory aspects of venous thrombo-embolism and uteroplacental thrombosis in pregnancy at the Anu Research Centre.

The candidate for this post should have completed their PhD and have few years of laboratory experience with an ability to work independently under the guidance of Prof John Higgins and Dr Shanthi Muttukrishna. Prior experience in aseptic techniques in cell culture and one or more immunological techniques such as immunohistochemistry, immuno assays and western blotting is essential.
