This project is funded for 3 years by Science Foundation Ireland, and will involve the fine mapping and resequencing of candidate loci in a large case control group involving patients from Ireland, Italy and the UK. Candidate genes will be selected on the basis of information from the GWAS study and using pathway analysis. The project will involve high throughput genotyping, resequencing, bioinformatic and potentially functional analyses. The project will be based in the Institute of Molecular Medicine which has access to state of the art genomics and functional analyses facilities. Stipend will be at the level of ?16700 plus fees initially.
